When the word “ornate” was mentioned, I immediately thought of my friend’s Indian wedding that I attended last year. From head to toe, the bride and groom were covered in graceful extravagance and elegance – so beautiful!
Today was my first time attending an Indian wedding, starting in the morning with the rituals and ceremonies. The bride is my good friend – isn’t she just gorgeous! It was certainly a super interesting experience watching the many elaborate traditions and procedures, even though I understood nothing as the event was held in…Hindi? Punjabi? Sanskrit? Some of the audience members whom I asked didn’t even understand. What an honour to be part of the special ceremonies 🙂
I just cannot resist putting up this photo of my friends Florence and Darwin during their wedding banquet. I was only able to shoot the picture from this angle because as the maid of honour, I sat in the front row up on stage with the bride, groom, and the rest of the wedding party, but it turned out well! The wedding was a blessing and so much fun, and Florence looked stunning! (Of course Darwin did too, heh 😉 ) Congratulations to my dear friends. Cheers!
