The one day last winter where snow accumulated in Glasgow, someone decided to show their creativity by giving life to this little snowman, whom I encountered on the way home. Hello, but goodbye soon!

Summer is short and precious in Scotland, but I feel like this summer had been way nicer and warmer than last year’s. At least the sun didn’t hesitate to shine, and surprisingly we got quite a few rainless days!

On the way to SeeWoo, I usually like to take a little detour that passes by the Clyde Canal, which on a good day looks beautiful. After a few days of rain, just when I thought the autumn rainy season is about to begin in Glasgow, we were surprised with the most brilliant sunshine last Saturday, which coincided with my visit to SeeWoo via the Clyde Canal. The water was so calm that even the clouds were reflected within. What a great day!

Fog has the power to transform an ordinary atmosphere into a trance-like scene. Waiting for the tram at the station in the afternoon, the blue sky has disappeared and became an invisible background, fused with the fog that showed no sign of retreat. The rails further down the tracks were barely visible. Were we waiting for a ghost train to arrive from the eleventh dimension, or have we been unknowingly swapped into Platform 9¾? It’s hard to feel optimistic in Glasgow during the rainy seasons, and sometimes it feels like every season is a rainy season. When the dark clouds loom over your head every day for three weeks straight and you haven’t seen a sliver of sunshine, it may feel like the sun will never appear again. You have forgotten what blue skies look like – you ARE blue. But one sunny afternoon is all that it takes to restore hope in this city amidst the seemingly never-ending rain. The sun will rise again!
