A review of my past photos reveals some rather interesting shots that I had forgotten about, some candid and unintentional, like this one. I must have quickly snapped this photo of two ladies on a motorcycle in Vietnam as I was passing by, without noticing the expression on the face of the lady in the back. Captions, anyone?
Sapa, Vietnam, taken on December 31, 2015
The trek to Sapa involved stopping by a local’s home to see what rural Vietnamese life is like. It was the cold rainy season and we were shivering all over upon entering the house – should have joined the party around the fire! (See the original photo in colour.)
Huế, Vietnam, taken on December 27, 2015
A year ago I was in Huế, Vietnam, where my friend and I got (more than) slightly lost in a local area and had a difficult time spotting a taxi. We walked through the streets without knowing where we were going, but at least the sun was shining brightly and accompanying us on our search for the way! (See the original photo in colour.)
Hai Van Pass, Vietnam, taken on December 26, 2015
On the way to Hue from Hoi An via the Hai Van Pass we stopped by for a break. A lady carrying a basket of dried squid offered to sell us some and while we declined, she continued down the road. (See the original photo in colour.)
Hanoi, Vietnam, taken on December 29, 2015
My tour of Hanoi included a ride on a cyclo through the old quarter of the city. It was quite an experience navigating through the busy streets on this three-wheeled vehicle, and I was glad that the elderly gentleman who rode the cyclo knew where he was going as I would have certainly gotten lost if I were to wander around by myself, not to mention probably being hit by one of the countless motorbikes!
