Apr 05, 2016 – [Tuesday] Black & White: Bookshelves

Sintra, Portugal, taken on March 28, 2016

During my trip to Sintra last week, I saw some badass bookshelves inside a mansion at the Quinta da Regaleira. The mirrors lining the ground looked like a glass floor at first and I thought that below us was another library while really…the bookshelves were reflected. Really cool! Mar 29, 2016 – [Tuesday] Black & White: Divinity School, Oxford

Oxford, England, taken on March 25, 2016

Oxford used to be my dream university and I finally got to visit it last week. I wonder what it would be like to have class in the Divinity School (a window of which is picture above) as a student in the 16th century 😛 (See the original photo in colour.)

Mar 17, 2016 – [Thursday] #tbt: Settlers

Waterloo, Canada, taken on October 23, 2009

In undergrad, my housemates and I had “termly addictions”. It was Monopoly during one term, Mario Kart and poker during others, but in the first term of our fourth and last year, Settlers of Catan was almost a nightly ritual. By the look on his face, it seemed like like DC the Settlers master was ready to ruin some friendships with his sly plays, and Flo had a few tricks up her sleeve as well… 😛

Mar 10, 2016 – [Thursday] #tbt: Slap

Waterloo, Canada, taken on September 18, 2009

I often miss my university classmates because the bond we built during those five difficult years is unbreakable, even 6 years after graduation. I think this was either before or after a tutorial, when the guys began to play a hand-slap game, for no reason. By the end of the game, the back of their hands had all turned pink!

Mar 03, 2016 – [Thursday] #tbt: All-nighter

Waterloo, Canada, taken on January 19, 2006

One of the few (approximately 3) real all-nighters that I pulled in my undergrad years was done during mid-first year, and it wasn’t for the purpose of studying. One night, two friends and I were chatting and without a sign of wanting to sleep, we went on to play board games, make instant noodles, eat ice cream, and play card games. Before long it was 7am, and I took a small “nap” from 7:30 till 8, when I had to head to class. Crazy night when we were still crazy teenagers who didn’t know better, but it was surprisingly memorable. (Here were my two friends in the residence lounge before I woke them up for class 😛 )
