A visit to the library of my dream school, Oxford University, surrounded by an omniscient air of academia.

When I was an undergrad, since I was in an engineering program, I had a lot of classmates whom I liked to call “hing dais”, or “brothers”. Five years of classes together meant a lot of bonding time to get to know these hing dais, but this is a photo of one of the first events that our class participated in, when I still didn’t know anyone very well. Some of these guys would go on to become some of my very good friends during my undergrad years, without whom I wouldn’t have made it through. Hope they’re doing well…wherever they may be!

Today is the future of 10 years ago, of 5 years ago, of a year ago, of yesterday…and soon will become tomorrow’s yesterday. Almost 6 years ago, I stepped out of university as a “bright-eyed graduate” with a “brilliant future”, like everyone else in the crowd. Well…at least that’s what they said. Was my future “brilliant” if today is the future of days past?

During my trip to Sintra last week, I saw some badass bookshelves inside a mansion at the Quinta da Regaleira. The mirrors lining the ground looked like a glass floor at first and I thought that below us was another library while really…the bookshelves were reflected. Really cool!
