Jan 14, 2017 – [Saturday] Is this what you call art? – Traffic Light Tree

London seems to be full of surprises and one other thing that I went to see recently was the Traffic Light Tree, a piece of public art near Canary Wharf. I was a bit confused – were the lights real signals for drivers? Turns out they weren’t, and the entire “tree” symbolizes the fast rhythm of the surrounding areas. How creative 🙂

The most recent trip to London included a stop at the St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, where I went specifically to see the East Window above the altar. The warped window design is reminiscent of a cross and while somewhat abstract, is strangely very aesthetically appealing.

Punting is very popular in Cambridge and punts can be seen everywhere around the city. Though I didn’t get to experience punting when I was in Cambridge, the green university campus still made the visit a very memorable one.

On a boat trip from Elgol to Loch Coruisk on the Isle of Skye, wild seals were spotted! In fact there were so many colonies that we lost count. Innocent or smug? 😉

Jun 28, 2016 – [Tuesday] Black & White: Greyfriar Kirkyard

Newest discovery in Edinburgh: the Greyfriar Kirkyard. I rather liked this closed gate, locked with skulls as if warning anyone attempting to trespass. I wonder what mysteries lie beyond the gates…and I’m not about to find out! (See the original photo in colour.)

Where Am I?
