In Toronto, I don’t take the streetcar often even if I do go downtown, though I would like to avoid the necessary evil that is TTC altogether (which is nearly impossible). However, last time I was in Toronto, I hopped onto one of these very colourful streetcars, and with the old city hall as a backdrop, it actually looked quite cool!

Looking for interesting things to photograph at the most unexpected corners in a familiar city, even on a TTC bus, with which I’ve always had an intense love-hate relationship. Push to open the door, step out, and have a nice day.
Somehow this image of the window on a TTC subway train caught both the platform outside the train and the reflection of the interior of the train. Rather unexpected, but neat nonetheless.
Today is TTC day with the sister, where we just go around the city with a day pass. Part of the trip took us to Downsview station, with these long escalators leading up to the buses.
One thing in Toronto that I can’t (or don’t want to) get used to again is our inefficient public transit system. Yet, lacking a car, I can’t get anywhere without taking the TTC…blah. The “new” subway trains certainly are much wider and brighter though. Now, can we just improve service?
