Glasgow, Scotland, taken on February 13, 2017
It is not the first time I am posting a photo of this tree outside my office, and I gotta say it’s my favourite tree on campus. For the past two years, I noticed flowers beginning to bloom in February or March but this year, they were already blooming by late January. It gives me joy seeing this tree as I walk by and enter my office building, especially since the usual Glasgow rainy season has been relatively rain-free thus far. Spring is coming, or has it already arrived? 😉
Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, taken on October 14, 2012
Autumn is gorgeous in Louvain-la-Neuve and I was lucky to have spent three consecutive autumns there (in turn missing three autumns in Bordeaux). A hike in the Bois de Lauzelle is always refreshing and full of surprises!
Lisbon, Portugal, taken on March 27, 2016
Lisbon has its fair share of exceptional street art and one of the coolest ones has got to be this one found in the Alfama district. As my friends and I were trying to figure out what it represented, one of them suggested that perhaps it was a brain…a tree of knowledge in a brain? Whatever it was, it was impressive!

There is a tree by the south gate of the University of Glasgow whose leafs turned a bright, flaming red during the autumn. What a pleasant sight!
Ta Prohm, Cambodia, taken on December 23, 2015
While the grandeur of Angkor Wat is what amazes most people when visiting Cambodia, the mysterious Ta Prohm is no less majestic. With the giant roots of ancient trees wrapping around the temple complex, the entire atmosphere felt sacred and solemn, as if spirits were entangled within the walls of the temples.
