On the way from Berlin to Leipzig, we passed by a gorgeous field of sunflowers and I grabbed my camera as quickly as possible to snap this photo. No blue skies like the ones near Royan and definitely not as close up, but appealing in its own rights 🙂
Somewhere between Manchester and Glasgow, taken on July 14, 2015
The location of this photo was “somewhere between Manchester and Glasgow” because it was taken from a train during a ride from Manchester to Glasgow. I’m not sure where I was exactly but it was probably close to Glasgow, yet still counts as a “travel” fav because I was literally travelling 😛 I did enjoy this timely sunset, especially as it was accompanied by some dramatic clouds that added to the overall effect of the scene.

Across Lake Hallstatt, I sat in silence and wonder as a train on the opposite side began moving, so small and insignificant compared to the majestic “in-yo-face” mountains. And I thought of what the little prince said, “People start out in express trains, but they no longer know what they’re looking for.” Yes, the passengers must be on the way to a final destination, somewhere important perhaps, but is the destination really all that matters? Where is the road that leads to the way?
Second TTC pass day with the sister brought us initially to the town centre where we hopped onto the Scarborough RT. I haven’t been on the RT for many, many years. At McCowan station, I went to the very front of the train and looked through the window towards the rails and tracks on the way ahead.
Rain arrives in Milan as our train pulled into central station. We were blessed with the most unbelievably gorgeous sunny weather all week in Italy, wherever we went – thankfully it only began to rain today, the day we leave.
