After a week in Alsace, it’s time to head back to Bordeaux. I booked an early train as it would be a 7-hour trip from northeastern France all the way to the southwest, and some nice sleep on the train could definitely be appreciated.
May 31, 2013 – EMRS umbrella
Post #500 goes to…the EMRS umbrella! I was impressed by the EMRS (European Materials Research Society) conference organization – they even gave out umbrellas to the attendees! It was probably the best thing to have happened to me all week, as I would have not been pleased to be soaked in rain…and it rained quite strongly on 3/5 of the conference days. These were good, sturdy umbrellas too! I wonder how many they had to prepare…
May 30, 2013 – Petite France
Instead of going to the bar after dinner, I decided to split from the EMRS group and go for a little walk around Petite France, which turned out to be a good idea because the entire day was warm and rain-free, for once. As if the place wasn’t already gorgeous enough during the day, it transformed into a stunning magical world at night. What a pretty area 🙂
