Starbucks frappuccino has got to be one of the most satisfying guilty pleasures for me, all the better during happy hour where all frappuccinos are 50% off! Sherry wanted strawberry and cream while I went for the usual green tea frappuccino. And a venti for just an extra 20 cents? Yes please.
I spent a lovely afternoon having coffee by myself at Starbucks, listening to music, observing people (like this man), and writing in my journal the way I did in the little coffeehouses in Europe. I did need some time away from the tension that looms inside my house, and this was my attempted escape. Sadly Starbucks is the only thing (at least in my area) even remotely similar to “Les Mots Bleus” in Bordeaux, but it nonetheless provided me with a relaxing hour of solitude.
