Seville, Spain, taken on July 1, 2017

I finally went to Seville, the one place in Spain that I’ve wanted to visit for a long time. One short visit made it my favourite Spanish city out of the ones I’ve been to. And I’ve been to quite a few. What an utterly amazing city, filled with beauty and surprises in every corner. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Madrid, Spain, taken on September 13, 2013

[Reposted because of image error in previous post.] Street performers often are able to transform themselves into art itself and their creativity is endless. In Madrid, Spain, I saw two men who seemed to be able to transmogrify themselves into life-size figurines made of clay. Could have fooled me! (Side note: I had always thought the word “transmogrification” was used only in Harry Potter, but apparently…not. Thanks, WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge 😉 )

Girona, Spain, taken on August 26, 2011

During my first trip to Barcelona, I took a day trip to the nearby Girona. It was a nice break away from the popular Barcelona and a tranquil time spent with my dear friend, LS. And Girona was such a cute city too! Definitely didn’t spend enough time there!

I love sculptures and I’ve seen a fair share of strange ones, like this kid…choking a goose? Maybe there’s a dark story behind it…who knows.

Barcelona, Spain, taken on August 29, 2011

Perhaps nothing demonstrates opposites better than light and darkness, and shadows are just that – a battle between light and darkness. While it seems that light is the backdrop and the shadow is the main character, without the presence of light, the shadow can’t even make its appearance, and there would be no show for darkness. One of the coolest shadows I’ve seen is that of a horse-riding warrior in a square in Barcelona. A brilliant piece of art, especially during the night!
