Winter in South Bend was brutal and I arrived in January 2009 just in time for the perfect storm that covered my rental house in a beautiful layer of snow and ice. Long winter and lots of shovelling to look forward to!

Indeed, this is the basilica on the Notre Dame campus in South Bend, not the Notre Dame de Paris. I’m surprised that during the 8 months that I was in South Bend, I was only there once or twice and never noticed how stunning the architecture was until I looked at my photos afterwards.
