I was in the mood for some Korean food today, so I went to supposedly a very authentic Korean restaurant with a friend. I ordered the jajangmyeon plus champongbap combo – jajangmyeon is a noodle dish with a thick black bean sauce mixed with beef and vegetables, and champongbap is spicy seafood soup with a bowl of rice. Boy the portions were much larger than I had expected…but I was hungry! The food was so…good! The soup was very hearty and super tasty, and I hadn’t expected the noodles to be so delicious. Love ❤

It’s about time I learned how to make soup, which is something that I must know how to do as a Cantonese. The simplest one to start off with is pork bone soup, and as I couldn’t find pork bone at the supermarket, I used beef bones instead, which turned out with a similar taste. With the bone, I put carrots and daikon radish. Perhaps not a conventional combination, but I liked the end result 🙂

Spent a very awesome night with my colleague/friend eating and chatting till 10:30pm. Thank you for inviting me over, making the food, and sharing with me your stories. The company was great and the food was too delicious – fish seaweed soup, steamed chicken, and spicy cabbage and shrimp, the typical Chinese “two dishes plus one soup”. Oh, and there was wine! White wine is always a nice addition to any meal. I think I drank 2/3 of the entire bottle. It’s a miracle I made it home in sober condition.
