The photos from Skye keep coming because it is just such a photogenic place! Isle of Skye means “the isle of mist”, and misty it was (occasionally) when our group took a tour around the island with Stuart from Misty Isle Tours. Driving over hills and valleys and passing by little villages on the road was certainly a good way to experience this wonderful Scottish isle!

On Skye I saw some of the most magnificent cloud formations – a dragon (or whale perhaps?) was breathing out fire right in front of us! What a sight!

I can’t get enough of photos from Skye and this is the third one in a row. After searching on Google Maps and checking the corresponding time that the photo was taken, I have reasons to believe that the mountains seen here are known as Beinn na Caillich, the “red hills” of the Cuillin mountain ranges. While the Black Cuillin was more majestic and dramatic, I quite liked the gentle curves of the Red Cuillin. One also wonders…why is it bald?!
