Summer is short and precious in Scotland, but I feel like this summer had been way nicer and warmer than last year’s. At least the sun didn’t hesitate to shine, and surprisingly we got quite a few rainless days!

Perth and the nearby Kinnoull Hill jumpstarted my hiking adventures in Scotland, and after a great morning stroll on the hill, I wandered around Perth itself and found it a very picturesque and attractive city. Lovely secrets to be discovered everywhere! (See the original photo in colour.)

There is art to be found in every corner of Glasgow, including a mural of a crocodile literally at a corner by a bridge near Charing Cross – a rather fierce and menacing addition to the urban scene!

The Black Linn Falls at the Hermitage near Dunkeld is so far the most beautiful waterfall I’ve seen in Scotland, and if you know me well, you know that I love waterfalls! Of course this was the perfect chance to add to my “Food and the Scotland hikes” collection…except that McDonald’s forgot to put cream cheese in my bagel!

Nature exhibits H2O in various wonderful and artistic forms that inspire and touch me. Among them are waterfalls, clouds, icicles, and dewdrops! Morning dew, especially, can sometimes be a delicate work of art – the beauty is unfathomable!
