Jan 01, 2017 – [Sunday] WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Resilient
Toronto, Canada, taken on October 13, 2015
Salmons are resilient creatures as they must swim upstream against violent currents to spawn. While strolling along the Don River with my dad one autumn day we saw HUGE salmons in the river, jumping fiercely against the current but failing to reach the high point time after time. Then after a few minutes, they tried again, failed again, and prepared again to continue trying. Keep going, buddies!
Nov 09, 2016 – [Wednesday] Travel Favs: Florence, lit up
Florence, Italy, taken on December 19, 2013
At dusk, when the sky hadn’t gone completely dark at 5pm in December, Florence became lit up by streetlights on both sides of the Arno river. I had planned to be at the Piazzale Michelangelo (in the far distance in this photo) for a sunset from the hill with my dad, but train delays ruined the plan 😦 Still, old Firenze looked beautiful in the early evening!

Bordeaux, France, taken on October 9, 2010
Upon arriving in elegant Bordeaux for the first time 5.5 years ago, one of the first things to do was to, of course, capture an obligatory photo of an elegant tram crossing the elegant Pont de Pierre – literally “Stone Bridge” or “Peter’s Bridge”. Symmetry is beautiful!
Feb 17, 2016 – [Wednesday] Travel Favs: Frozen statue
Ghent, Belgium, taken on February 11, 2012
The river was frozen the first time I went to Ghent, but I did see an interesting scene. Don’t ask me how the information sign-holding statue of what seemed like a character from Greek mythology got stuck in the ice – that’s what I had wanted to know as well!
