Amir had been such a kind friend when I was in Louvain-la-Neuve for my studies, and he was certainly a goofy guy too! One can always expect to have a great time with him – with a few bottles of Belgian beer, too, of course! (See the original photo in colour.)

One of the few photos of my late grandmother reminds me how little of her is left in pictures. But she lives on in our memory and our hearts. (See the original photo in colour.)

The joy on this lady’s face was so genuine and full of life that I just wanted to go and hug her ❤ (See the original photo in colour.)

Toronto, Canada, taken on February 2, 2014

Family is my one love in this world and my most precious treasure. Though we are an ocean apart, I know they are the ones I can run to if the entire world rejects me. I have such a close relationship with my sister, and I can’t imagine life without her humour, support, and well…love. Hugs and kisses from Scotland to Canada, blob (what I call my sister, because I have clear memories of her being a blob as a baby XD)

Hoi An, Vietnam, taken on December 25, 2015

Continuing on with the “people of Southeast Asia” series, we have here a man with many lanterns at a market in Hoi An. I believe he is the vendor manning this lantern booth. This is one of those photos where colour and the lack thereof makes a big difference to the entire mood. (See the original photo in colour.)
