Jun 21, 2015 – [Sunday] WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: ROY G. BIV

Niagara Falls, Canada, taken on August 3, 2005

Rainbows are one of my favourite things to photography because they’re usually unplanned and unpredictable. The moment Mr. Roy G. Biv shows his face, you know the rain is over…except at Niagara Falls, when the rainbow isn’t necessarily caused by the rain. This photo was taken almost ten years ago (wow?) when Roy decided to form a real rainbow bridge between Canada and the US, and the “Maid of the Mist” happened to be passing below it. A most appropriate scene, no? 🙂

Mar 21, 2015 – [Saturday] Letters of the Alphabet: I(n) between

Niagara Falls, Canada, taken on July 15, 2014

When you walk across the Rainbow Bridge at Niagara Falls from the Canadian side to the American side (or the other way around), there is a specific point where you “officially” cross the border. The two sides are marked by the flags of each country, and standing in between the two makes you feel like you’re in two countries simultaneously!

July 15, 2014 – Niagara

It’s been so many years since I last visited Niagara Falls, and I went again with the family today, for the first time to the American side. It was the first time I was so close to the actual falls themselves, and I almost prefer the American side over the Canadian side! I would have loved to be down there with those people, enjoying the cool splash of water from the falls. Maybe another time 😛
