The morning glow behind the Hallgrímskirkja in Reykjavik, Iceland illuminates the sky for a new day. The only thing is…this photo was taken at almost 11:30am, and the sky was still not completely bright yet! Daylight certainly is scarce and arrives late during the mid-winter in a country as northerly as Iceland!

The past month has been so rainy and gloomy in Glasgow that even just a tiny sunshine in the morning gives me the greatest hope of a rainless day, even though we all knew that it would rain again. But hey, the brand new hope of the morn is enough to keep me cheerful throughout the day!

Final meal of my most recent trip to Iceland – breakfast at Keflavik airport. As my flight was 7:35 in the morning and I had stayed in the airport all night, a gigantic breakfast sounded pleasing, but this was almost even too much for me. Let’s see what we have here…scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, smoked salmon, potato wedges, and toast. Boy, I was so stuffed that morning that lunch wasn’t even necessary. Bye bye Iceland, for now!
