For dinner tonight – Iberian pork loin with clam and polenta. These have got to be the most tender pieces of pork I’ve ever had and I never thought pork could actually taste so good. Well done, chef!

My Sichuanese friend, who sure knows how to make a lot of authentic Sichuanese dishes (which are all very spicy), presented us with this “water-cooked pork slices” – that’s the literal translation of the name of the dish in Chinese. But don’t be fooled! Although “water-cooked” may imply blandness, this dish is anything BUT bland! Aside from the big delicious chunks of meat, there is also an abundance…of chili peppers! You gotta have a strong stomach to handle this 😉
[Travel time] Back in France, many restaurants were closed during the holidays. Not willing to go too far from my hostel to grab food in the evening, I settled for kebab (in plate form), which I guess you could say is a “specialty” of France as it could be found everywhere. The kebab tasted great and the huge plate left me very, very, very full.
