Madrid, Spain, taken on September 13, 2013
[Reposted because of image error in previous post.] Street performers often are able to transform themselves into art itself and their creativity is endless. In Madrid, Spain, I saw two men who seemed to be able to transmogrify themselves into life-size figurines made of clay. Could have fooled me! (Side note: I had always thought the word “transmogrification” was used only in Harry Potter, but apparently…not. Thanks, WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge 😉 )
Last stop in Madrid before heading back: Temple of Debod, an Egyptian temple in the city centre.
First (and probably the only) flamenco show in my lifetime…in Madrid! The show started at 10pm and it was a solid 1.5-hour dance galore. Such a unique experience!
A view of the northern part of the city of Madrid from my hotel, with mountain ranges in a distance.
This is the official “I am actually attending a conference” photo. Of course, having my own oral presentation done and over with on the first day lets me catch up on some relaxing for the rest of the week 😉
