There is a tree by the south gate of the University of Glasgow whose leafs turned a bright, flaming red during the autumn. What a pleasant sight!

Jan 25, 2016 – [Monday] The Places I Called Home: Tram in a tunnel

One of the first things that I loved about Bordeaux was the Place des Quinconces, especially the trees that lined the path connecting the city and the quais. It always felt like a natural tunnel, particuarly when a tram passes through the corridor. The sound of the tram and the sound of the rustling leaves – I’m not sure which one I like more…perhaps it is the perfect combination of the two that makes this city so charming, year after year.

October 31, 2013 – Autumn grounds

The end of autumn is near, and orange leafs are still covering the ground outside the lab. The temperature is dropping sharply. Winter will be here soon.

October 19, 2012 – Leafy trail

Fallen yellow leaves have begun to decorate the city as autumn continues to reveal itself. I hope that the forest is sufficiently colourful this weekend when I go hiking again. What a scene that would be!

October 07, 2012 – Noon moon

The moon was visible at noon today, faded against a crystal clear sky above the reddening leaves. Finally some blueness again after days of rain…so refreshing!
