May 31, 2015 – [Sunday] WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: On the Way

Hallstatt, Austria, taken on January 14, 2014

Across Lake Hallstatt, I sat in silence and wonder as a train on the opposite side began moving, so small and insignificant compared to the majestic “in-yo-face” mountains. And I thought of what the little prince said, “People start out in express trains, but they no longer know what they’re looking for.” Yes, the passengers must be on the way to a final destination, somewhere important perhaps, but is the destination really all that matters? Where is the road that leads to the way?

Hallstatt, Austria, taken on January 14, 2014

I’ve seen my fair share of beautiful cats in Europe, and this one, found outside the cathedral in Hallstatt, is definitely one of my favourites, along with badass cat. He certainly did me of badass cat, actually, except I wouldn’t really describe him as “badass”. He was more…serious with such an INTENSE look in his crystal clear green eyes that could easily pierce through your soul. It was love at first sight.

January 14, 2014 – Hallstatt

[Travel time] Hallstatt, a tiny town hidden within the mountains of Austria beside a lake, was a worthy visit even on a gray day. Narrow hiking trails scattered around the town, traversing the rows of houses and leading up to those “in-yo-face” mountains, as I’d like to call them (as they are literally right in front of you). One particular trail was lined by wood stumps painted with strange faces. It almost felt as if they were staring at me when I walked by…funny little things they were!
