Nov 24, 2016 – [Thursday] #tbt: Under the stars

Toronto, Canada, taken on June 23, 2005

Highschool ended with several days of insane madness and fun with the group of friends that has formed “the family” by the end of grade 12. On one memorable night, after the seven of us watched Batman Begins, four of us had dinner together and afterwards decided to enjoy the evening air while wandering around aimlessly. At one point we sat down on a field, under the stars, and enjoyed each other’s presence. For me that was a moment worth remember, especially…since Tony is gone, and I’m no longer in touch with Kerrie. As for Pierre, he’s here and there and I can always manage to find him…somehow 😉

Nov 10, 2016 – [Thursday] #tbt: Before the exam

Waterloo, Canada, taken on December 9, 2008

The days of pulling all-nighters to study for university exams are long gone but the memories dwell in the back of my mind. On the eve of the nanolithography exam, I and many classmate stayed up to study furiously. Here Mickey was explaining the fabrication of a cantilever to Derek, who was listening very carefully it seemed. Of course moments later we realized that we made a big mistake in the concept as Mickey said, “I forgot to deposit the cantilever!” which became one of the most classic nano inside jokes between us!

Nov 06, 2016 – [Sunday] WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Chaos

Le Semnoz, France, taken on March 21, 2013

In March 2013, during a training school session, my colleagues and I went on an excursion to Le Semnoz, where we went snowshoeing in team. At one point I was taking a group photo for one of the teams, and everything was fine until…someone tripped. Or someone pushed someone else?! Whatever it was, surely chaos ensued and the initial fall of one person triggered an entire chain reaction that resulted in half the team falling onto the ground into deep snow. As a bystander I found it rather hilarious to watch everyone try (or not!) to get back on their feet while still not sure what had happened. It might as well have been a huge snow fight that I’d love to have joined!
