Dec 12, 2016 – [Monday] Anything Goes: Flying over mountains

Somewhere in China, taken on December 8, 2016

Before landing in Beijing, near the border between China and Mongolia, the plane flew over majestic mountain ranges that stretched on for what seemed like forever. Such a grandiose sight and one of the reasons why I would always choose a window seat!

Mar 16, 2016 – [Wednesday] Travel Favs: Departing from Lisbon

Lisbon, Portugal, taken on March 18, 2011

I fell in love with Lisbon the first time I visited it and one of the reasons was the stunning view from the air upon departure or arrival in a plane. The Tagus River is so wide and majestic that one would easily mistaken it as the sea, and the Vasco da Gama Bridge makes the entire scene even more stunning. Can’t wait to go back in about 10 days or so – for the third visit!

Mar 02, 2016 – [Wednesday] Travel Favs: Iceland

Iceland, taken on January 26, 2014

Iceland is my favourite place ever and I fell in love with it even before the plane landed for the first time. Upon approaching the island, the amazing landscape captivated me from outside the window – barren and isolated were the feelings that this land first gave me. Who would have thought that even so, I would come to love this magical country so much… ❤

Dec 23, 2015 – [Wednesday] Travel Favs: Taking off

Hong Kong, China, taken on December 22, 2015

Right before taking off from Hong Kong to Siem Reap yesterday, the plane stopped at the perfect spot for me to witness the opening of the sky to let the sun out. The gigantic rays illuminated the layered mountains, and if you look carefully, you could even see the cable cars of Ngong Ping 360 on the right!

Nov 18, 2015 – [Wednesday] Travel Favs: Hong Kong from the air

Hong Kong, China, taken on August 15, 2010

One of my favourite photos taken from the air is this one as we were approaching Hong Kong. I don’t know what part of Hong Kong this is (or if it’s Hong Kong at all), but I loved the complement of the typical tall buildings in the urban aread with the big hills/mountains right in the middle. The whole scene almost looks like a miniature model of a city!
