May 23, 2016 – [Monday] Anything Goes: Tulips in Ottawa

Ottawa, Canada, taken on May 23, 2016

Just in time for the last day of the Tulip Festival this year in Ottawa – woohoo! I dropped by Major’s Hill Park where the tulips were still in bloom, and beautiful they were! Of course you can’t compare the ones in Ottawa with what they have in Keukenhof, but I was still quite impressed after having been to the same festival 14 years or so ago. Thanks for your gratitude, Netherlands!

Sep 01, 2015 – [Tuesday] Black & White: Spark in the night

Edinburgh, Scotland, taken on August 28, 2015

Last Friday, friends and I went to see a symphony in Edinburgh during the International Festival. On the way back to the train station at night, we chanced upon some firework displays up on the hill, right above a lit Edinburgh Castle, under the full moon! The contrast between the colours of the fireworks, the castle, and the moon was amazing, and even though I didn’t have Mr. Nikon with me, I couldn’t resist trying to capture a photo with my phone, which turned out decent, I’d say. The original photo in colour was already stunning, so I thought I’d find out what the photo would look like in black and white. An unconventional attempt…but here it is. Make sure you do check out the original! (See the original photo in colour.)

July 26, 2014 – Jazz festival

First time at the Toronto Jazz Festival with my buddies from Waterloo/Bordeaux, and thank goodness it wasn’t as crowded as I had expected! Lots of jokes and lots of good music, but my favourite part was still the StreetFest, which followed the Jazz Festival. Discovered some really cool musicians there, awesome!
