Jan 08, 2017 – [Sunday] WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Names

Montreal, Canada, taken on May 17, 2016

I’ve had several names growing up. Zhe, meaning “philosophy” or “wisdom” in Chinese, is my native and official name, though I go by Annie in everyday life. To avoid (or add?) confusion I sometimes go with “Zhe Annie” or “Annie Zhe” on paper. At the World Biomaterials Congress last year I had to wear a name tag that showed who I was, where I was from, and what I did, and I was…Zhe Annie, though please, just call me Annie.

It is seriously beyond my understanding. This tapas is on par with another one that I’ve tried (patatas bravas) as my favourite. Gah, Spain, you make me indulge! (Side note: I can’t believe I’ve been doing this a-picture-a-day thing for 600 days straight…O_O)

It was probably the best thing to have happened to me all week, as I would have not been pleased to be soaked in rain…and it rained quite strongly on 3/5 of the conference days. These were good, sturdy umbrellas too! I wonder how many they had to prepare…
