One thing I miss about Waterloo is the railroad right outside the campus that goes from the plaza right past UWP and all the way to Kitchener. I loved to stroll along the tracks at night, always walking on the rails and never in between. Lots of train travel in Europe, but it’s been a while since I’ve set foot on those tracks. I miss that feeling.

On this day, the gymnasium in the PAC (Physical Activities Centre) at the University of Waterloo wasn’t used for sports or recreation. Arrays of desks and chairs were lined up for, you guessed it, final exams. It was a magnificent sight. I really hated writing final exams at the PAC and would rather have them in classrooms, but we didn’t get to choose. I can’t remember whether this was arriving at an exam or leaving it, but it was probably one of thermo or circuits, which was in my 3A term. Oh, those horrid memories. Never again, please!
The fact that I am surrounded by such beautiful architecture every day still amazes me. I feel so lucky to be working on such an elegant campus.
My afternoon stroll today unexpectedly brought me back to the campus of the university, where I work every day. In the background is the medical sciences building while in the foreground, some flowers add colour to the otherwise grey atmosphere.
