A seagull takes flight from the shores of Dyrhólaey, with Reynisfjara in the background. Soar far, far away!

Sometimes I just want to fly away like a bird, soar above the ground, and fling all worries behind.

On the eve of Chinese new year in 2011, when the worship team was rehearsing for the gospel event that would happen the next day, we got a special visitor. This little guy decided to join us as a spectator in the church, and he stayed all night, hopping and flying all around and not willing to leave. Here comes the sad news: I arrived the next morning at the church to find its frozen body on the ground, without any sign of life 😦 It must not have left the building when we shut the doors the night before. It made me rather sad.
Spontaneously I went for a walk in Milliken Park today and was treated to a nice dose of nature. I noticed this beautiful bird chilling and singing to a similar one nearby, and I must have spent at least 15 minutes watching it and taken a million photos of it. In addition to this one, I saw a few blue jays and a hot red robin, but they were too quick for me to photograph. Milliken Park: check. Time to discover more green space in Toronto 🙂
