There are several nice places to see Brussels from a high place and one that I discovered last year was at the top of the Musical Instruments Museum. In addition to the town hall, you can see the grand Basilica of the Sacred Heart in the far distance. (See the original photo in colour.)

At one particular restaurant in Louvain-la-Neuve, the decors were made of none other than what’s ubiquitous at every restaurant – cutlery. Knives, forks, and spoons in a delicate arrangement hanging from the ceiling – who needs a chandelier? If this isn’t art, then I don’t know what is!

The river was frozen the first time I went to Ghent, but I did see an interesting scene. Don’t ask me how the information sign-holding statue of what seemed like a character from Greek mythology got stuck in the ice – that’s what I had wanted to know as well!
