Perhaps not many people know about Dinant, but it is a real gem in Belgium. When I stepped out of the train at Dinant, I felt like I was dropped inside a fairy tale. Such a magical place! Next time you plan a trip to Belgium, consider Dinant instead of/in addition to Bruges 😉

Belgium is no doubt a country of many beers, and this tower of beer glasses in Bruges might as well be its mascot. I was quite amused by the lady’s expression, perhaps a candid moment of serendipity.

Autumn is gorgeous in Louvain-la-Neuve and I was lucky to have spent three consecutive autumns there (in turn missing three autumns in Bordeaux). A hike in the Bois de Lauzelle is always refreshing and full of surprises!

Amir had been such a kind friend when I was in Louvain-la-Neuve for my studies, and he was certainly a goofy guy too! One can always expect to have a great time with him – with a few bottles of Belgian beer, too, of course! (See the original photo in colour.)

When in Bruges, it’s not just the canals and architecture that are of interest. I also stumbled upon some rather bizarre art in a hidden corner and was in fact pleasant surprised at my discovery.
