Jul 03, 2016 – [Sunday] WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Opposites

Barcelona, Spain, taken on August 29, 2011

Perhaps nothing demonstrates opposites better than light and darkness, and shadows are just that – a battle between light and darkness. While it seems that light is the backdrop and the shadow is the main character, without the presence of light, the shadow can’t even make its appearance, and there would be no show for darkness. One of the coolest shadows I’ve seen is that of a horse-riding warrior in a square in Barcelona. A brilliant piece of art, especially during the night!

Jun 07, 2016 – [Tuesday] Black & White: Sagrada Familia

Barcelona, Spain, taken on April 2, 2016

Five years after my first visit to Barcelona, I went again to finally see the inside of the Sagrada Familia – a curious piece of art, whether in colour or in black and white. To be honest I wasn’t as fascinated as I had expected to be. Perhaps my expectations were too unreasonable…or I just didn’t know how to appreciate the art, which I thought was ordinary at most.
