It is a colleague’s birthday today and she kindly made a cheesecake for everyone in the lab 🙂 Time for an unofficial group meeting, aka cake-eating break. Sarah and Marco are preparing the candles for the birthday girl – can you count how many there are? The cake was delicious, by the way!
The stir bars in the samples go round and round…and round and round and the samples are still not dissolved after 4 days, bah!
The bright circles on the ceiling of the elevator at my workplace remind me of a porous material or the polyHIPE insulator that my friends and I made for the engineering project. Or maybe some disordered nanotopography? Gah, where would I be without science… 😛
The entrance to my office building leads to a set of stairs, which is…not where I go every day. I actually have to enter the door to the left of these stairs and go DOWN to the basement. Working in the dungeons…maybe I do have a secret lab down there.
At the corner of the office board are some roses, a red blob with a white hard hat, and a note left behind by a previous occupant of the office (probably). I would probably miss you if I knew you… 😦
