With the indulgence in all-you-can-eat meals these past two months, tonight’s dinner probably wraps it up for now. Last family dinner before I head to Glasgow, and what better place to have it than at Yamamoto? Their desserts are always the best, although I always overestimate the number of mango yogurts that everyone wants and thus end up eating a lot. And the crème brulée…ahh, so good!
Dad is finally back after a 3-week absence. At night the whole family went out for dinner at a Cantonese restaurant where he ordered this “Wenchang” chicken, one of the classics of Cantonese cuisine. Welcome back!
There are many ways to cook duck – I should know since I’ve lived in Bordeaux for so long and it’s the region in France where duck is often consumed. Back at home, we eat a lot of roasted duck. Tender meat and crispy skin with a bit of plum sauce – so good 😀
The last time I’ve been to Sushi On Bloor must have been something like five years ago. I had lunch with the sister there today, both of getting bento boxes and some maki rolls to share. Surprisingly the place is as good as I remembered it to be, leaving us both very satisfied 😀
The Chinese mid-autumn festival was two days ago, but we still had some moon cake left in the fridge. My favourite type would have to be the classic one with lotus paste and two salted eggs – quite heavy but so yummy!
