First time at the Toronto Jazz Festival with my buddies from Waterloo/Bordeaux, and thank goodness it wasn’t as crowded as I had expected! Lots of jokes and lots of good music, but my favourite part was still the StreetFest, which followed the Jazz Festival. Discovered some really cool musicians there, awesome!
Nice day out with the girlfriends, most of our time was spent at a board game cafe in downtown Toronto called “Roll Play”. I wanted to try Cards Against Humanity as I’ve never played before, but the others have. Oh boy did it turn out badly…or more like, inappropriately. Lots of rolled eyes and laughter though, even better with some good ol’ nachos!
Today is the day – Germany vs. Argentina! My sis was rooting for Argentina and I was cheering for Germany, and to show our enthusiasm, we made paper flags of our teams 😉 I’m glad I only had to colour in three horizontal strips, although I was sure that half of my black Sharpie was used up. And yes, you could see the lines from colouring in sections, but it didn’t turn out too bad, right? Props to Sherry for the Argentina flag, though I made fun of her for missing a few details 😛 Anyhow, what an exciting and intense game! Germany pulled through in the very end, yay!! Sorry sis, it was a good show, but I win 😉
Another food festival, woot! This time, it was Night It Up. My sister and I were smarter this time and went in the afternoon at the beginning of the event, avoiding all the line-ups that were sure to occur in the evening. We tasted lots of yummy food items, including stinky tofu, salty chicken, blooming onions, teppanyaki squid, takoyaki, and these classic curry fish balls. I was expecting four but got six instead, quite a good size. And I could not understand how something so simple could be so good!
